Colour Creations Seaside Spray

Hi there everyone! Having a go at Seaside Spray this week in Colour Creations Showcase - ooh, this has got to be my favourite colour of all!

I made the box of tulips card above with this lovely Seaside Spray cardstock! The theme was inspired by the Facebook profile picture of our Art with Heart team - thanks to Claire Daly for the inspiration! I loved this profile pic and have been thinking of making this card for a long time.

Seaside Spray is no longer with us, but the same card can be made with Balmy Blue, which is also a lovely light blue colour.

Anyway, to make a box card, please see my under 10-minute video of how to make a daisy box card - the basic box fold is the same.

So, instead of using DSP to decorate the box flaps, I used panels of Basic White cardstock ink-embossed with the Pinewood Planks EF and Seaside Spray ink. Ink embossing is a favourite technique of mine and I have made a video of this technique also. The Pinewood Planks EF is retired, and may have run out in the store, but you can try using other embossing folders, such as Bricks and Mortar, or Painted Texture, or Old World Paper for a similar effect.

And, instead of using the Daisy Lane stamp set and Medium Daisy punch as shown in the video, I have used Timeless Tulips stamp set and coordinating Tulip Builder Punch for tonight's card. The Timeless Tulips Bundle is retiring this June - I do recommend this set.

Here is the box without the flowers in, to show what the card base with the decorative panels looks like, before adding the tulips:

Onto the horizontal bars shown in the box card, I attached tulips on strips of Window Sheets (acetate). The tulips were stamped with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink, to match Claire's lovely picture. The large tulips were punched out, the smaller tulips were fussy cut out. The leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green and punched out with the punch.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this week's colour - I really love Seaside Spray and am sad to see it go!
